5 New LinkedIn Recruiter Features That Will Save You Time
Over the past two years, the job market has overcome many challenges. The hiring pendulum has swung from being nearly at a standstill early in the pandemic to a labor market today that’s never been tighter.
Amidst these changes, recruiters have been feeling the brunt of these swings. But one thing’s certain: we know recruiters are the backbone of good hiring practices and are more important than ever.
It’s hard to believe that just two years ago as many companies implemented a hiring pause, demand for recruiters decreased by two-thirds compared to pre-pandemic levels. But in 2022, demand has never been higher as companies clamor for top talent. On LinkedIn, we’ve seen an 11x increase in global demand for recruiters relative to the May 2020 low point, nearly 4x the pre-pandemic demand in January 2019.
And with demand for recruiters growing, the challenge of finding quality candidates is growing as well. We’re seeing that job changes are up 14% year-over-year globally and job seekers are pickier than ever, viewing double the amount of job posts on LinkedIn since 2019.
In our ever-changing economy, we’re committed to helping recruiters find and hire the best candidates for their open jobs. That’s why ahead of National Recruiter Day on May 30th, we are rolling out our new and updated features to help make your lives easier.
Hiring made easier and more efficient
To help you find the right candidates as quickly and easily as possible, we’re bringing you new features in LinkedIn Recruiter.
First, we’re updating our Recommended Matches feature to serve up more relevant and real-time candidate recommendations to help you save time and easily discover more recommended candidates. Soon, when you do a search in LinkedIn Recruiter, you will immediately see recommended matches of the most qualified and interested candidates based on your hiring activity. Best of all, we’ve found that these candidates are 35% more likely to accept InMails than candidates found in Recruiter search alone. On top of that, we’re seeing that recruiters who use both Recommended Matches and Recruiter search are finding more interested and qualified candidates, expanding their talent pools by 10%.
And as we shared last month, we’re also helping recruiters find candidates more efficiently based on their skills. We’ve brought skills to the forefront in LinkedIn Recruiter, so you can easily search and filter for candidates who best match their skill requirements. We’re also giving members the opportunity to add context on their profiles about how they developed their skills. With more of this information on a members’ profile, the better we can match our members to relevant job opportunities.
Not only do we want to help recruiters source and attract outside talent, but it’s just as important that recruiters look internally when filling their roles. In fact, our data shows that companies who excel at internal mobility retain employees nearly 2x as long as companies who struggle with it. That’s why we’re rolling out a new feature in our Spotlight section in Recruiter that will make internal candidates front and center during the search process.

Build better relationships with your candidates
Sourcing and attracting talent are just one part of the equation. It’s equally important that recruiters build meaningful relationships with potential candidates.
To help recruiters with these relationships, we’re updating the Recruiter Inbox to create a more efficient and collaborative messaging experience. Now, you will be able to better communicate with candidates and collaborate with your peers without ever having to leave your Inbox. We’ve created new features to help you easily add notes and tags directly from your Inbox, set an out-of-office reply when you’re on a well-deserved vacation, and view messages by project or status to stay organized.
And when it comes to team collaboration, you can view all relevant candidate information directly within your message thread or through the slide-in candidate profile. What’s more, you can also reply to notes and tag your peers to maintain internal alignment.
“My favorite thing about Recruiter Inbox is the fact you can see what project you are in and go straight to your project from the Inbox,” says Kristina Hughes, a solutions consultant at Ploy. “Also, I love that I can search messages by project so I don’t have to scroll through all the messages. It’s also great to have the out-of-office feature to help keep candidates I am working with updated.”
Save time by streamlining your workflow
And to help you work more efficiently and simplify the hiring process, we’re also updating Job Wrapping. With updated Job Wrapping, you’ll now be able to manage all your jobs in one place and have greater visibility to promote the highest priority jobs.
