The 10 Must-Read Articles for Recruiters This Week
Pay transparency, after a bumpy journey, has arrived — kind of — in New York City.
This past Tuesday was the Big Apple’s first foray into pay transparency on job postings, Bloomberg reports. New York City’s new policy requires companies with four or more employees to list “good faith” ranges for jobs in the city, and employers were off to a rocky start. Some big companies were still scrambling to update job postings with required salary ranges, while other employers had listed no salary ranges at all by lunchtime.
Even though the new pay transparency law had originally been scheduled to go into effect in May 2022, many employers didn’t seem to be ready by the first day of November. But as organizations do figure it out, pay transparency is likely to spread far beyond the five boroughs.

Near the bottom of our list, check out Fast Company to see how job seekers can turn interviews into networking opportunities. And Harvard Business Review has an article that explains how employees, once they do land a job, can do themselves a favor by letting go of their old work identities.
