The 10 Must-Read Articles for Talent Professionals This Week

Imagine a world where planning your next career move was as simple as plugging directions into Google Maps.

Well, according to a recent article from CNBC, the emergence of more sophisticated AI tools like ChatGPT may mean this could be a reality sooner rather than later.

“AI and chatbots,” writes CNBC, “could enable workers to see not only how their role fits in the bigger picture of the company, but also explore the exact pathways they can navigate to move up in their career or move laterally into a new role, making them less likely to quit.”

And in other AI-related news, Microsoft Worklab’s latest Work Trend Index Annual Report highlights that these new technologies could help reduce workers’ “digital debt” — that crushing amount of time spent answering emails, responding to instant messages, and attending meetings.

Meanwhile, the Association for Talent Development (ATD) writes on its blog that AI could be a huge win for learning and development professionals. Soon enough, generative AI tools could help L&D pros develop better storytelling chops for training sessions, create role-playing scenarios to help employees better handle difficult conversations, and help with image creation for training videos and marketing efforts.
