The 10 Must-Read Articles for Talent Professionals This Week
At long last, we may be able to retire “The Great Resignation” as a term in the workplace lexicon.
In a recent article for Forbes, recruiting industry leader Jack Kelly highlights new data from the ADP Research Institute that shows the rate of U.S. workers quitting their jobs has fallen 5% since last year. What this means is that the Great Resignation — or as some called it, the “Big Quit” — of 2021 and 2022 may be turning into the “Big Stay” of 2023.
“The ‘Big Stay,’” Jack writes, “is a term used to describe the trend of workers hunkering down and remaining in their current jobs for more extended periods of time. This trend contrasts the Great Resignation, which saw a record number of U.S. workers — 4 million each month — quitting their jobs in 2021 for better pay and benefits, work flexibility, an enhanced work-life balance, and career advancement.”
