The Must-Read Articles for Talent Professionals This Week
When a company is described as dynamic, you often also hear about innovation — how, for example, that business was on top of the latest wave of technology or the hottest consumer trends.
But what if we’ve got it all wrong about what it takes for a company to be dynamic? According to a new study from The Josh Bersin Company, innovation may not actually be the key. Instead it’s something that many would consider to be far less sexy and headline-grabbing. In a word, it’s management.
“Among the 1000+ companies who participated in this study,” writes industry leader Josh Bersin in a recent blog post, “we found that the highest-performing companies are simply ‘dynamic by design.’ Their leadership and operational practices focus on listening to employees, regularly moving people around, and organizing their people into cross-functional teams.”
Simple, right? Not so fast. “This all sounds kind of easy to understand,” writes Josh, “but it’s enormously difficult to do.”
To learn more about how good management can make companies more dynamic — including a recipe and set of best practices that the research unearthed — be sure to check out Josh’s blog post at the top of our list below of must-read articles for talent professionals. And further down our list, you can also find out what’s the latest in all things ghosting; how much salary some workers are willing to give up for a remote opportunity; and why you should think back to your first-ever message from a recruiter.
