See the Early Impact of LinkedIn’s First AI Agent: Hiring Assistant

You’ve probably heard that “AI agents” are the next big thing — that they’re an evolution beyond the chatbot-style AI popularized by tools like ChatGPT and that they’re going to change the way we all work

But for many recruiting professionals, all this agent talk is still only theoretical. What does the “agentic” future look like for you, your recruiting team, and the talent acquisition discipline as a whole? Let’s find out.

Hiring Assistant is LinkedIn’s first AI agent, announced a few months ago at Talent Connect. Today, it’s in the hands of our own recruiters and available in charter to a select group of LinkedIn customers.

We’re excited to share some of the early results seen by companies like SAP, Verizon, Equinix, and Siemens

How Hiring Assistant empowers recruiting teams to boost both speed and quality

From time immemorial, recruiting teams have been judged on two competing criteria: speed and quality. So far, our findings confirm that Hiring Assistant helps with both.

In terms of speed or efficiency, Hiring Assistant enables talent pros to save time on repetitive tasks, allowing them to concentrate on the most strategic, people-centric parts of their job. For instance, 40 out of the 55 charter customers surveyed (73%) report that Hiring Assistant saved them at least one hour or more sourcing per role — including one senior TA partner who reported a stunning 20x increase in sourcing efficiency.

Early users report being impressed with the quality of candidates surfaced by Hiring Assistant — particularly when you power it with your feedback, creating a virtuous cycle as the AI agent learns with you. This adaptive learning capability means Hiring Assistant becomes increasingly tailored to your specific needs over time.

Behind the scenes, Hiring Assistant is unlike any other AI hiring tool: It’s the only agent that can leverage LinkedIn’s extensive network and data, connecting you to a vast pool of candidates and insights. Now let’s take a deeper dive into the early results.

Efficiency: Hiring Assistant is a force multiplier, letting you do more in less time

For recruiters, speed isn’t a luxury; it’s a necessity. Recruiters equipped with Hiring Assistant are already seeing significant improvements in efficiency, enabling hiring teams to focus less on repetitive tasks and more on strategic, people-centered work.

Initial data points clearly illustrate the impact. Charter participants viewed 30% fewer profiles to send an InMail when viewing candidates surfaced by the Hiring Assistant, compared with traditional sourcing channels. In other words, they were more likely to find the right candidate faster, with less time spent looking at profiles before finding one promising enough to InMail.

The real-world experiences from early adopters reflect this efficiency boost. Derrick Elefante, senior strategic sourcing lead at Equinix, puts it in simple terms: “Prior to the Assistant, I was only able to support five roles and now I’m able to support 15 roles at a time.”

Demi Usamanont, a talent enablement manager at Equinix, reports similar results across her whole team. “My team has been using the LinkedIn Hiring Assistant for a few months and they’ve described it as having a dedicated sourcer for their roles,” she says. “One recruiter reported that it helped them triple the number of roles they can support at a time. That’s three times more roles being filled quickly for the company and three times more people being connected to opportunity.”

Together, these testimonials from Equinix illustrate that Hiring Assistant isn’t just saving time — it’s fundamentally reshaping the workflow of talent teams, allowing them to scale their impact significantly. Check out Eqinix’s full story with Hiring Assistant here.

Siemens was also happy to share their experience with our AI agent, fully detailed here. “LinkedIn Hiring Assistant eliminates the hardest part of proactively finding candidates,” says Vincent Mercandetti, a senior talent acquisition partner at Siemens. “Instead of spending an hour sourcing for one project, I can now source candidates for five or more projects in 10 to 15 minutes with support from the Hiring Assistant.”

Incredibly, that’s an increase from one project per hour to 20 to 30 per hour, a 20x increase at a minimum.

Of course, sourcing is only one time-consuming aspect of a recruiter’s day-to-day work — carefully screening active candidates can take untold hours, especially with large pools of applicants. That’s why Hiring Assistant doesn’t just help surface candidates; it also helps recruiting teams efficiently review applicants. Most charter respondents with access to Hiring Assistant applicant reviews reported saving one hour or more reviewing applicants with Hiring Assistant’s support in identifying the most qualified candidates.

This time-saving capability is particularly valuable as application volumes grow.

Effectiveness: Hiring Assistant empowers your team to find higher-quality candidates

Speed without quality leads nowhere fast. Fortunately, early users also praise Hiring Assistant’s ability to surface highly relevant, quality candidates. For the projects where Hiring Assistant was enabled, the InMail acceptance rate of candidates surfaced was 36% compared with 28% for manually sourced candidates. In other words, Hiring Assistant doesn’t just help recruiters find candidates worth contacting — it also helps them engage effectively, leading to higher InMail response rates.

Rachel Gold, senior recruiter at SAP, shared how this effectiveness translates into tangible business outcomes: “The more I use the Hiring Assistant,” Rachel says, “the better it gets. It learns from my feedback, resulting in higher-quality candidates that perfectly match my needs. This tool has saved me a tremendous amount of time on sourcing and is truly incredible! We’ve already made a hire from a candidate sourced by the Assistant.”

Crucially, this highlights a critical ingredient in effective AI: your ongoing feedback, which drives continuous improvement. Hiring Assistant learns as you use it — and like most things in life, the more you put into it, the more you’ll get out.

Verizon’s Bhavana Preet, a senior recruiter, shared similar sentiments, emphasizing how Hiring Assistant synthesizes her input to deliver better results. “Overall,” she says, “I think the tool is quite robust in translating job descriptions, intake notes, and our own words into project details and candidate qualifications. The top-rated candidates are a good showcase of the thorough search that the system is conducting on my behalf. So far I have been impressed with the quality of candidates that the tool has presented.”

In short, Hiring Assistant doesn’t just surface more candidates; it identifies better candidates, fundamentally elevating the quality of each hire.

Final thoughts

Steven Cattley, talent acquisition specialist at Zurich Insurance, sums it up nicely: “My experience with Hiring Assistant has been very positive. I’ve been impressed with the accuracy of candidates and the speed to find them.”

Hiring Assistant delivers value across the entire recruiting workflow. Beyond helping teams find quality candidates, it also streamlines applicant review by automatically identifying the most qualified talent from your pipeline. This end-to-end approach helps recruiters effectively manage high volumes of candidates while maintaining focus on those most likely to succeed.

That combination of speed, targeted accuracy, and the ability to identify overlooked talent illustrates how Hiring Assistant shatters the age-old trade-off, providing greater speed while also improving quality.

As Hiring Assistant continues its rollout, early adopters’ experiences clearly show it can profoundly enhance recruiting. The AI agent isn’t just streamlining repetitive tasks — it’s reshaping how recruiters spend their days, freeing them to focus on richer, more meaningful interactions and strategic work.
