Talent Pros Are Swamped. LinkedIn Can Help
Talent professionals are swamped.
When I talk to LinkedIn Talent Solutions customers like you these days, I regularly hear that you’re being asked — among many other things — to:
- Do more with less.
- Compete successfully for specialized, hard-to-find talent.
- Seamlessly integrate AI into your company workflows to increase productivity and efficiency.
- Bridge the skills gap — LinkedIn data suggests, with AI as an impetus, that the skills needed for the average role will change 70% from 2015 to 2030.
Any one of those would be an enormous undertaking. But all of them at once?
LinkedIn is here to help
I’ve been at LinkedIn for over 16 years and what keeps me energized is seeing how our platform and products continue to deliver value to you, our customers. We help recruiters find and hire the talent their organizations need, and we help talent development professionals make sure their workforces develop and retain the skills that will keep their companies competitive and successful.
Of course, what elevates all of our tools is access to the LinkedIn network, which continues to grow 19% year over year, even though we already have over 1 billion members (and are adding seven new ones every second). On top of that, more than 66 million job seekers visit LinkedIn Jobs every week, providing you with direct access to highly engaged talent.
And I’m particularly excited about the many new AI-driven features we’ve rolled out in just the last 12 months, tools such as AI-powered coaching and AI-assisted learning plans that help develop talent and enhancements to tools such as AI-assisted search and AI-assisted messaging that help find top talent fast.
Our bold vision of providing economic opportunity for every member of the global workforce is feeling very much within reach.
Save time and drive better outcomes by using our AI-powered tools
How important are AI advancements for recruiters?
“If you’re a recruiter out there, the best time for you to be leveraging AI tools is yesterday,” says Lars Schmidt, the head of talent at Agrovision. “The second best time is today.”
LinkedIn has rolled out a host of AI-driven recruiting tools to help you find the best talent quickly. AI-Assisted Messaging, for example, has already boosted response rates by 44% and now, with our new bulk messaging functionality, allows you to personalize outreach at scale. AI-Assisted Search and Projects, which lets you tell Recruiter your hiring needs in your own words, drives an 18% higher InMail acceptance rate. And we’ve enhanced this feature recently with the ability to create and modify Boolean strings.
“One of the most valuable LinkedIn features I use is AI-Assisted Search,” says Abbi Sabel, a talent acquisition business partner at PepsiCo. “It allows me to quickly refine my sourcing process by simply describing the type of candidate I’m looking for. The AI then populates the relevant filers, which I can fine-tune based on the search results.”
LinkedIn Jobs is also helping recruiters find the right people right now and has driven a 32% increase in apply clicks over the past year. With AI-powered guidance in the flow of work, you can easily identify top applicants, refine and expand your talent pools, and benchmark your performance against competitors. AI-Assisted Applicant Management, Self-Serve Job Wrapping, and Rediscover Candidates streamline the hiring process, saving time, and maximizing efficiency.
“The AI features within the LinkedIn platform have allowed recruiters to do more, to be better, and to grow faster in all of our activities,” says Olivia Brown, the head of talent acquisition at Octopus Energy. “It’s not about replacing jobs or filtering candidates out. It’s about spending time in the right places and LinkedIn’s AI features help us do that equitably.”
Bolstering your employer brand is often the secret sauce for attracting hard-to-find talent, and LInkedIn Career Pages can successfully amplify your employer brand by attracting, engaging, and nurturing talent. For starters, Company Discovery ads make it easier for candidates to discover your organization when they’re searching for new opportunities. Their interest piqued, job seekers who click on our new “I’m interested” button are twice as likely to respond to an InMail. And we’re making it nearly effortless to nurture those candidates with Interested Candidate Alerts from your company — with no extra work from your team.
Customers frequently tell me that with business-critical skills changing so rapidly, they’re finding it easier to develop those skills internally than to hunt for them externally. To that end, we’ve greatly expanded our course offerings — over the past year, we’ve added 1,300 new technical courses, including more than 300 AI courses (in 13 languages).
We’ve launched two game-changing tools, AI-Powered Coaching and AI-Assisted Learning Plans, that are driving stronger engagement — learners spent 10% more time on the platform last year — and are helping professionals quickly find and build the skills that will make them and their companies successful.
We know our work for you never ends. In the coming months, we will be rolling out material improvements to AI-Assisted Search that will make it even easier for recruiters to search for candidates using their own words, and we’ll be launching Intelligent Talent Architecture Customization that will allow organizations to tailor internal career journeys so that career development is aligned with company-wide roles and skills data.
We’re also expanding our investment in LinkedIn’s new Hiring Assistant product, a solution designed to streamline recruiting workflows. By intelligently surfacing and prioritizing top candidates, it will empower recruiters to manage high volumes effectively while maintaining a laser focus on identifying best-fit talent.
